TendingTots.com is free for providers. Parents can choose from a limited, free version or the premium account which gives access to all the features of the system.
There is no required software installation - all operations run in a centralized data center and is thus available on whatever computing platform is available to you. However, if you want 'on-the-go' convenience, then you can choose to have the app downloaded to your mobile device (Android / iPhone). Both providers and parents can now access their respective views with the mobile app.
There are different levels of access, all of which require authentication via username/password. If you have 'Manager' credentials, you'll be given full administrative access to your site. As a parent, your access is limited to data associated with the children in facilities that have signed up for our service.
If you are a provider, we have a registration form that will walk you through the process of creating a tendingtots.com site. If you are a parent, your provider must have an active tendingtots.com account - just have them send you an invite through the provider interface on the website.
When your account is first created, all email notifications are 'on' by default, but it's very straightforward to turn them off. If you're a parent and don't need real-time notifications, then just opt in to the daily digest and you'll get a summary of each day's events.

We have tested our system on the latest major browser platforms (IE 8/9; Chrome; Safari; Firefox 3.x) as well as Apple and Android mobile devices. We do not support Blackberry, WebOS, Palm or Windows CE although the system may work on those platforms.
Yes, we provide multi-site support. When you interact with the system, you can switch between the management of each registered facility.
You staff can perform the tasks associated with running your child care facility, but do not have permissions for administrative operations.
Your account will be associated with each child, irrespective of the facility they attend (as long as the provider is our client), and you'll be able to see all activity and communicate with each provider no matter how many children you have spread around.
TendingTots.com has been designed with localization support, although not all countries/languages have been implemented. If you are outside the United States, let us know and we'll work to add localization for your area

We do not maintain 100% uptime as there are planned system outages but we generally perform system maintenance tasks during the wee hours of the night so as not to disturb most of our clients. We're not immune to unplanned outages, however, but we have system monitoring that tells us when there's a problem so we hop on it right away.
All our email communications come from no-reply@tendingtots.com, so the first thing you can do is check your junk folder for any email from us. You can also add no-reply@tendingtots.com to your contact list so your email provider knows it's a valid contact and that you want the email. We do know that there are deliverability issues with some email providers and are continually working to improve the effectiveness of our communications.
